About Me

I certified as a Pilates instructor in early 2005 and trained at the Stott Pilates International training facility in Toronto. I love working with people, and making them feel confident as they move. The safe and effective training method of Pilates keeps clients strong and flexible as well as balanced. As I grew into my practice I felt the need to learn more about the body and biomechanics. Clients were coming to me with conditions like Parkinson’s, acute neck pain, spinal stenosis and much more.

I came across an article written by Dr Evan Osar, founder of the Fitness Education Seminars. His simple yet very effective ways to train an individual made a lot of sense to me. The IMS principles (Alignment, breathing and control) are very powerful an effective. They blended seamlessly into my Pilates background. I took his Integrative Movement specialist certification in 2012. His perspective on the body has definitely influenced how I conduct my sessions. My goal is to teach individuals the three important principles and help them to integrate them to their everyday tasks there is always a moment of satisfaction when

I can clearly see the results of working with someone. Even if it is for a few minutes. I have observed marked improvements in posture and balance. The mobility and flexibility also show improvements. I have continued my studies with Dr Evan for the past 4 years. I use what I’ve learnt to help my current clients with their mobility, strength, balance and overall health and movement. Our studio is a fully equipped Pilates studio. With a reformer, chair and Cadillac in a warm and friendly environment.

About Our Studio:

Our studio welcomes people with all abilities. A good portion of our clientele come to us for help with acute or chronic issues (sometimes post rehab). Our work in this phase is usually geared towards teaching people how to incorporate a more efficient breathing strategy. During this phase we also teach our clients how to stack their body for optimum balance.

We progress to functional movement patterns such as squatting, pulling, pushing etc. As clients progress the workouts become more challenging to meet their new needs. Our studio well is equipped to address the needs of clients who are training for specific sport, competitively or they just like to challenge themselves with safe and effective high level training.

The spring-based system on all the equipment offers a unique opportunity to bring out the best in an individual’s session. The benefits of a resistance training means that you can challenge the body both concentrically and eccentrically simultaneously. This generally means less sore muscles following the workout.

Testimonials

Results I have Helped Create

“I have been training with Tarannum for many years now, during which she has helped me through many aches and pains that have crept up on me as I have grown older. However, it wasn’t till   just recently that I mentioned to her that I was having nerve pain (pins and needles) in my foot as the result of sciatica that I suffered many years ago. Since it was nerve pain, I assumed there was nothing to be done about it. The many medications I had tried gave me no help. So ,in passing, I mentioned it to Tarannum.  The pain had been getting more and more severe. Tarannum immediately put on her thinking cap and came up with some breathing and posture exercises, and as a result, I have been pain free for the last two weeks. And I have been sleeping better, and able to relax without pain. Tarannum loves what she is doing. She teaches with enthusiasm and intelligence. She enjoys helping people, and they enjoy the benefits of her teachings”

“I could not recommend a better teacher or trainer for beginners or advanced Pilates and movement students. Tarannum’s direct openness and interest in your well-being makes her classes and interactions superb.”

Her training and expertise in Integrated Movement adds an enormous quality and insight to her precise teaching, demonstrations, explanations and corrections.  She makes sure you do understand the posture or exercise in its fullest, physically feeling its power and incorporating it safely in your routine.”

“Tarannum Nasser is the best instructor I have had in over 15 years of Pilates lessons and training.  She has the ability to explain and demonstrate each movement with such detail and accuracy that it  is almost impossible not to get it, Should  you still not get it, she will help you to understand how, with individual attention even in the middle of a class, because it does help us all.”
